Listen, Learn and Share

Some of us meet regularly online on MSN Messenger on Wednesday nights to "chat" Its a wonderful way we can connect right from our own homes - or wherever we might be. Some of us live out of town, most of us are just plain busy during the week - and so other than phoning one another or just emailing its another way we can stay connected. We would love you to join us anytime! Its a time when we socialize, make plans and lift up prayer needs.

This past Wednesday we decided that we will take advantage of a resource on the internet that is free and that we can all access easily - to inspire us to discussions and bible study. It was suggested I post just how YOU might join us in this weeks topic. We are using the Midday Connection (Moody) Audio Archives podcasts for reference. You need not download them or anything complicated - as I will explain following. If you have a pc and audio you are good to go.

We will be listening to an archived program for this weeks Learn and Share - here's how to do it.

Click on the picture of the Midday Connection above and it will take you to the website in a new window.

Once you are there you will see that the past programs default to 2008. It will look like this:

I have circled where it says 2008. We will want to change this to 2009 Past Programs because the particular one we want to listen to is in August 2009.

So, on the left you will see this Past Programs tab. You need to click on the 2009. Once you click on 2009 your browser will list all the 2009 Past Programs - but it will list all the September Past Programs because it is September now (or if you are reading this in October or another month in the future it will reflect that month and the previous months) We need to change this. So you need to click on the dropdown menu for the months and select August. It will look like this:

Then you will choose August - it will look like this:

And click the GO button!

When you have done this you will see all the Past Programs listed for August 2009. The one we want is called Needs and it was aired on August 19, 2009. Scroll down the list until you find it. It will look like this:

You are one click away from listening - and this step is very straightforward, just click the LISTEN, looks like this:

If you look in the previous picture you will see it located at the top right corner atop the description of the program content. All you have to do at this point is click the Listen button, your computer will do the rest. It will open the audio program in whatever player your computer uses.

Ahem, if you are tech savvy - you can also download these programs through itunes as podcasts and listen to them on demand. If you're that savvy I need not explain it to you.
