In my absence, Elaine has provided some blog content for us to enjoy. Our congregation is blessed by their calling to minister to us. We've come to appreciate them she and Jim very much over the past few years together. Thank you from your flock! (quite appropriately put as Jim collects all things sheep)

Jim, Elaine and a friend!

Hello, my name is Elaine Caruso.

My husband and I are presently ministering in a church in Osoyoos....Canada's desert!

Jim is the lead pastor, and previously we ministered at Oceanside Community Church in Parksville on Vancouver Island, and after resigning last September, 2007, we had a 5 month sabbatical. We moved here in March, 2008.

I was born in the Okanagan and feel right at home in the midst of sage brush, lakes,, well... anyways, and hot, hot weather. The hotter the better! I have fond memories of riding horses up in the hills around Penticton as a teenager. And not so fond memories of picking cactus out of my legs after being thrown off.

I have been married for 36 years and have two children, my daughter and her husband are in the ministry and my son has his own business in the automotive field. I have 4 of the most beautiful granddaughters you could ever imagine... ages, 7, 6, 5 and l year old and another one is on its way this December, 2009.

We are a enjoying our church in Osoyoos, and we have a great group here and we enjoy them immensely! Osoyoos is a small town (4300 people, about) and we are beginning to meet the people in town as well. I am working at Mariposa Gardens as a dietary aid and at our church my focus is building up the Sunday school department in our church and my dream is to have great children’s program running here, a place where families would feel comfortable bringing their children.

I am currently enrolled in a Masters of Arts course at Trinity Western University ACTS Seminaries. I am on my second to last course.

God Bless and I look forward to hearing from you all.

Elaine Caruso
